Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG Sigma and Delta Variants Explained

The CNG version of Maruti Suzuki Fronx is now available in India, with ex-showroom prices ranging from Rs 8.42 lakh for the Sigma trim to Rs 9.28 lakh for the Delta trim. Both CNG versions cost Rs 95,000 more than their comparable petrol trims and are only offered with the Fronx's 1.2-litre engine.

The CNG version of Maruti Suzuki's Fronx coupe crossover is now available in India, with prices ranging from Rs 8.42 lakh for the base Sigma trim to Rs 9.28 lakh for the top-of-the-line Delta trim. All prices are ex-showroom. Both CNG trims cost Rs 95,000 more than their comparable petrol trims and are only offered with the Fronx's 1.2-litre petrol engine. The arrival of the Fronx's CNG iteration in the Indian market brings the total number of CNG vehicles offered by Maruti Suzuki to 15. The carmaker has sold more than 1.4 million CNG vehicles, after having launched the nation's first CNG vehicle in 2010. The model is now available for bookings and deliveries are scheduled to begin shortly.

As stated earlier, there are two versions of the Fronx CNG available: Sigma and Delta. Let's look at the Fronx CNG's variant-specific features in detail.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Sigma Variant Features (Rs 8.42 Lakh, Ex-Showroom)

The Fronx CNG's entry-level model is dubbed the Sigma. It will feature projector halogen headlights, automatic climate control, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, all-four power windows, keyless entry, fabric seat upholstery, reverse parking sensors, hill hold assist, a rear defogger, an electronic stability program, dual airbags, a two-tone interior theme, and 15-inch steel wheels with wheel caps as standard.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Delta Variant Features (Rs 9.27 Lakh, Ex-Showroom)

The Sigma variant is followed by the Delta variant, which also includes all features of the former. These versions also come with a 4-speaker sound system, steering-mounted controls, rear parcel tray, turn indicators on the side mirrors, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice assistance, chrome grille garnish, and OTA updates.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Engine and Transmission

A 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 100bhp of maximum power and 143Nm of peak torque, and a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, with 90bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque, are the two engine options available for the Fronx. The latter can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) or an optional 6-speed torque converter AT, while the former is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) or an optional 5-speed AMT.

The Fronx CNG is available with a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine – the 1.0-litre turbo petrol will not be available in the CNG variants. The 1.2-litre NA engine produces 113Nm of maximum torque and 90bhp of peak power, but operating on CNG, it offers 98.5Nm of torque and 76.4bhp of power. Only a 5-speed manual transmission is available with the CNG model. which, according to Maruti Suzuki, has a fuel efficiency of 28.51km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Market Rivals

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is the only other compact SUV with a factory-installed CNG kit. The Fronx competes against the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Mahindra XUV300.
