Maruti Suzuki Fronx Becomes Best-selling Car in India, Beats Wagon R, Creta and More in February
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx sold 21,461 units in February 2025, showing a remarkable growth of 51.48% year-on-year. It was followed by the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, and the Hyundai Creta on the list.

In a surprising turn of events, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx emerged as India's best-selling car in February 2025. The crossover sold 21,461 units, reflecting a remarkable 51.48% growth from the 14,168 units sold in the same month the previous year. What makes this achievement even more impressive is the Fronx's quick rise—it was ranked tenth on the sales chart just in January 2025. Alongside the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Wagon R and the Hyundai Creta also claimed strong spots in the best-selling car list last in February 2025, with 19,879 and 16,317 units sold, respectively.
Maruti Suzuki continued its dominance, securing seven spots among the top ten cars on the chart. With a total of 1.61 lakh units sold, the brand solidified its position as the leader in overall sales, strengthening its grip on the Indian car market. Here’s a look at some key specs of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Price and Rivals
The Fronx is priced between Rs 7.52 lakh and Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It directly competes with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and serves as an alternative to models like the Renault Kiger, the Nissan Magnite, the Kia Sonet, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Engine
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx stands out in its lineup as the only model equipped with a turbocharged petrol engine. This powertrain delivers an impressive 99bhp at 5,500rpm and 147Nm of torque between 2,000 and 4,500rpm. It can be paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Alongside the turbocharged variant, the Fronx also offers a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that generates 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 4,400rpm. This engine is available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. There’s also a CNG variant, which uses the same NA engine but produces 76bhp at 6,000rpm and 98.5Nm at 4,300rpm exclusively mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx comes packed with a wide range of features, including an auto-levelling driver’s seat, rear AC vents, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
