The evX, Maruti Suzuki's first battery electric vehicle, is expected to be available in India in 2025. The electric vehicle will not only be sold in India and other emerging countries but will also be exported to Japan and European countries. In early 2025, the company will take the wraps off its first zero-emission passenger vehicle, probably at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo (January 17–January 22).
The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be very similar in size to the Grand Vitara already on sale in India. Design-wise, it will be mostly evolutionary compared to the eVX small SUV concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. These are the new spy shots of the electric SUV testing, suggesting the same. It is on the road in Southern Europe. While it is under camouflage, the eVX spotted reveals significant design details, including redesigned headlamps, tail lamps, and two-piece LED daytime running lights (DRLs). One can expect a full-width LED light bar at the back, like the one on the concept.

Moreover, the alloy wheel design is expected to be all-new on the production-spec eVX. Other expected bits include a panoramic sunroof, a sharkfin antenna, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, horizontally positioned air conditioning vents, an auto-dimming IRVM, a rotary dial for drive modes, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, multiple airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Powertrain
The Maruti Suzuki eVX will sit on a new platform designed specifically for electric vehicles. The technical specifications are under wraps; however, we expect it to get a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, along with a 60kWh battery pack with a claimed 550km range on a single charge. But, we are not ruling out a single-motor front-wheel-drive option also. The electric SUV will measure 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. It will feature a 2,700mm-long wheelbase.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Price, Rivals
While it will be a global car, the eVX will be manufactured in our country. Therefore, we expect the model to carry a competitive price tag (Rs 18 lakh–Rs 25 lakh, both prices are ex-showroom). As for rivals, the model will go against the existing Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Nexon EV in India, as well as several upcoming electric vehicles, namely the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, Honda Elevate EV, and Mahindra BE.05.
