A couple of days ago, we mentioned that Maruti Suzuki's new Engage MPV is scheduled for a July 5, 2023, launch. We also apprised you that it will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross and become the most expensive and largest car in Maruti Suzuki's model range. Now, thanks to the latest set of spy images, we can confirm that the Engage will have a Suzuki-specific front profile. According to the spy shots, the car gets a brand-new grille with a hexagonal mesh pattern, revamped bumper, wide air dams, and horizontal daytime running lights. With the Suzuki logo located at the centre of the grille, the front-end design is consistent with the signature Maruti styling.
However, the upcoming MPV borrows its headlights and dual-tone alloy wheels from the Toyota Innova Hycross. Not many changes are expected at the rear end, with the exception of the Suzuki logo and the lettering.

Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV: Interior
It is speculated that the interior of the Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV will be identical to the Innova Hycross, save the Suzuki logo on the steering wheel. The MPV will probably get a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated and powered front-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Other notable speculations include leather upholstery, a memory function for driver seats, and multi-zone air conditioning.
In terms of safety, the Engage could get hill start assist, vehicle stability control, 6 SRS (supplemental restraint system) airbags, and ADAS technology.
Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV: Engine
Similar to the Innova Hycross, the Engage MPV will presumably receive two powertrain options – a 2.0-litre NA petrol and a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid unit. When running on the 2.0-litre petrol unit, power and torque figures stand at 173bhp and 209Nm. The 2.0-litre strong-hybrid unit, on the other hand, which is packed with a 168-cell Ni-MH battery, will deliver around 183bhp and 188Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV: Price, Competition
We expect the Engage MPV to be priced somewhere between Rs 25.20 lakh and Rs 30.20 lakh (ex-showroom), slightly higher than the Innova Hycross. The Maruti Suzuki Engage, which is a rebadged version of the popular Innova Hycross, will go on sale via Maruti Suzuki's Nexa chain of dealerships. It will be Maruti Suzuki's answer to the likes of the Kia Carens, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
