Maruti Suzuki Dzire - Old vs New: What's Different?
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has recently achieved a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP ahead of its launch. The sedan is set to go on sale in India on November 11, 2024.

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has finally made its debut, with significant upgrades over its predecessor. Bookings for the car are currently open for a token of Rs 11,000 on both offline and online platforms, while prices are set to be announced on November 11. The updated Dzire features a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, which replaces the old 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K-series unit. This motor produces 81bhp and 112Nm (a decrease of 8bhp and 2Nm). The gearbox options are a 5-speed manual and an AMT. Let's explore how the newly revealed Dzire differs from the previous model.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire vs Old: Exterior
The overall size and shape haven't changed much, but the fourth generation now has a unique design, with a bold front bumper, a large grille with several horizontal slats, sophisticated LED headlights with horizontal DRLs, a revamped fog lamp housing, and a prominent shoulder line. It also gets new alloy wheels, and Y-shaped LED taillights connected by a chrome strip.

The Swift and the new Dzire have the same dashboard layout. However, the latter has a dual-tone black and beige cabin theme with imitation wooden accents on the dashboard, in contrast to the former's black interior. The push-button engine start stays in the same spot, while the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now situated over the front AC vents.
While there is no confirmation, the previous cup holders are anticipated to be swapped for a wireless phone charger in front of the gear lever on the new Dzire. Other notable features include a single-pane sunroof (segment first), a 360-degree camera (segment first), 6 airbags (as standard), rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control (ESC).

With several upgrades, the upcoming Dzire is likely to fetch a higher price than the current Dzire, which costs between Rs 6.57 lakh and Rs 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
