Maruti Suzuki DZire Allure Edition gets a few cosmetic changes and a couple more features over the regular model.

It’s a well-known fact that the Maruti Suzuki DZire is the best-selling compact-sedan in the country, and it’s been comfortably reigning atop the sales chart for quite a while now. However, despite being at the top – sales wise, that is – every once in a while Maruti Suzuki launches a limited edition variant of the compact-sedan so as to make it more attractive among car buyers. Now in a bid to do just that, the firm has launched the DZire Allure Edition in the market with a few cosmetic changes and additional features on the inside-out.

In the Allure Edition, the DZire gets an excessive amount of chrome on the bodywork. Like, there’s a chrome bumper corner protector, chrome window lining, chrome boot-lid and chrome Allure badging. Apart from these, it also gets side skirting and body graphics so as to make it look more “alluring”, apparently. Six colour options are available, namely - sangria red, cave black, magma grey, silky silver, alp blue and pearl artic white.

Inside, there’ve been a number of changes, too. For example, the Allure Edition comes with dual tone beige-chocolate brown leather seat covers, ‘Allure’ branded pillows, faux wood panels on the dashboard and door handles, a front centre armrest, ambient white lighting, leather steering wheel cover, an optional Nertz music system, and beige floor carpets.

Powertrain options are unchanged from the regular model, meaning you will see the familiar 1.2-litre K-Series petrol or 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine under the hood of the Allure Edition. The petrol engine is rated at 84bhp and 115Nm of torque, while the diesel develops 75bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel version can also be paired with an AMT automatic gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed the prices of the DZire Allure Edition variants, but as is the case with all the special edition models, expect these to command a slight premium over the regular model. The Maruti Suzuki DZire is priced between Rs 5.27 lakh and Rs 8.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
