Maruti Suzuki has released the Black Edition of the Celerio through its authorised dealerships across India. The country's leading carmaker celebrated its 40th anniversary in the country with the Black Edition of its cars, including the Celerio. The move to introduce the special edition of the Celerio is in line with the recently announced plans to offer a new Pearl Midnight Black paint option on its cars, embracing the Alto K10, Wagon R, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, and the Ertiga. Earlier in January, the company also launched a Black Edition for Nexa dealerships. While Maruti Suzuki does not charge a premium for the Black Edition, the prices of its products are expected to increase from April 1 this year due to overall inflation and regulatory requirements.

Notably, the Celerio Black Edition is available only with ZXI and ZXI Plus trims. As of now, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio has a starting price of Rs 5.35 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.13 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Black Edition: Exterior
Starting with its exterior, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio special edition is done in Pearl Midnight Black colour option and gets 15-inch blacked-out alloy wheels. Up front, it gets halogen headlights, a radiant front grille with chrome accents, and fog lamps. While at the rear, it comes with modern droplet-styled taillamps. Moreover, the hatchback is available with electrically-adjustable ORVMs that feature integrated LED turn indicators.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Black Edition: Dimensions
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio Black Edition is built on the same wheelbase of 2,435mm, similar to the standard versions. Additionally, the length and height are also the same as before at 3,695mm and 1,555mm, respectively. Even it has the same width that stands at 1,655mm.

Inside the spacious cabin, the Black Edition of the Celerio features a contemporary dashboard design and gets steering-mounted audio controls. There is an infotainment system with Maruti's SmartPlay Studio system and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. Other features include engine push start/stop button, AGS technology, keyless entry, and more.
As far as safety goes, the hatchback is based on Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform. Also, it comes equipped with hill hold assist, dual airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution system, and reverse parking sensors.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Black Edition: Engine, Performance
Coming to its powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio uses a 1.0-litre K10C DualJet petrol engine, which churns out 65.7bhp of maximum power and 89Nm of peak torque. The company also offers a CNG kit for the hatchback. When running in CNG mode, the car puts out 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The car has a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.86km/l.
