The Maruti Suzuki Brezza surpassed the Creta, Punch, Scorpio-N, and other SUVs to become the top-selling model in August 2024. The SUV saw an astounding year-on-year rise of more than 30% last month, which is the second among the best-selling SUVs on the list. Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The Brezza sold 19,190 units in August 2024, up from 14,572 units sold the previous year. This led to a stunning 31.69% YoY rise. The SUV has a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A CNG alternative is also available. Price-wise, the Brezza retails between Rs 8.34 lakh and Rs 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Hyundai Creta
With 16,762 sold, the Creta emerged as the second-best-selling SUV in the previous month. For the uninitiated, 13,832 units were sold at this time last year. Mechanically, the Creta has three engine options: a 1.5-litre normally aspirated (NA) petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. It costs between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
Tata Punch
The compact SUV from Tata Motors was the third best-seller last month. It sold 15,643 units, up 7.71% YoY from 14,523 units sold in August of last year.
On the mechanical front, the Punch encompasses an array of powertrain options, including CNG, ICE, and electric. Its ICE variant starts at Rs 6.13 lakh, while the EV version begins at Rs 10.99 lakh.
Mahindra Scorpio
Out of the top 5 best-selling SUVs on the list, the Mahindra SUV saw the biggest YoY growth, at 39.29%. It sold 13,787 units last month, which is higher than the 9,898 units sold in August 2023. While the Scorpio Classic is available with a single 2.2-litre diesel unit, the Scorpio-N has two engine options (a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol). The former costs Rs 13.62 lakh, while the latter is priced at Rs 13.85 lakh. Both are starting and ex-showroom prices.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx
In August 2024, the Fronx sold 12,387 units, which represents marginal a YoY gain of 1.83% over the 12,164 units sold during the same period last year. Maruti Suzuki offers two engine options for the SUV: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol. In terms of prices, the SUV starts at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
