The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG is ₹ 95,000 costlier than the petrol-based variant.
Maruti Suzuki has added the Alto K10 CNG to its line-up, which can be had a starting price of ₹ 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Alto K10 CNG's exterior is identical to that of the petrol-powered variant. The only difference is the inclusion of the S-CNG emblem at the rear. The carmaker has put a 55-litre CNG tank in the hatchback's boot, which, of course, has reduced the storage space.
The car comes with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and seatbelt reminders. The Alto K10 CNG's interior is identical to the corresponding VXi trim of the petrol version and gets the same features. The model gets a 2-Din SmartPlay audio system (with Bluetooth, AUX, and USB ports), a speed- and impact-sensing auto door lock function, and a gear shift indicator.
The CNG model is powered by the same 1.0-litre K10C engine that propels the S Presso CNG and Celerio CNG. The engine produces 56bhp and 82Nm and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new model delivers a fuel economy of 33.85km/kg, which is 1.75km/kg less than that of the Celerio CNG and 1.12km/kg more than that of the S Presso CNG. Equipped with a revamped suspension setup, the Alto K10 CNG ensures improved comfort and driving experience.
The model, as expected, will lock horns with the S Presso CNG (₹ 5.90 lakh-6.10 lakh) and Alto 800 CNG (₹ 5.03 lakh). All figures are ex-showroom. Additionally, it will also compete with the Renault Kwid, which is a non-CNG model.
