India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki registered a 13.8% rise in overall sales in Q2, with 3,41,329 cars delivered to customers. As compared to this, Maruti sold just short of 3,00,000 cars during the corresponding period of last year.
Of the 3,40,000 odd cars sold, 2,70,643 units were sold in the domestic market, with the remaining 29,251 exported to other parts of the world.
Small car segment comprised majority of the sales, while Ciaz also showed strong numbers, having recently overtook Hyundai Verna to become the second highest selling sedan in the country.
Maruti's growth rate, however, was less astonishing in June 2015, with 1,14,756 units sold, as compared to 112,773 units during the same month of 2014.
