The soon-to-be-launched Mahindra XUV.e9 has once again been spotted testing on Indian roads. The XUV.e9, the coupe-SUV variant of the XUV.e8, is the second vehicle in the brand's all-electric XUV.e lineup. The latter is expected to arrive on the Indian market by the end of the year. The XUV.e9, spied from behind, is strikingly similar to the concept model, unveiled in 2022. Other design features like the flush-fitting door handle on the front doors and a small integrated spoiler on the roof are also easily noticeable, as is the high-set rear with its wrap-around lightbar and sharply sloped rear windshield. Mahindra XUV.e9 SUV: Other Design Features

Although not seen in these spy photos, the XUV.e9 will sport twin-pod vertically stacked headlights with L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) on the front fascia, just like the concept car. In previous spy photos, a radar module for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) was visible at the bottom portion of the bumper, with the front number plate at the top. A unique sloping roofline, curved LED taillights, squared-off wheel arches, a shark-fin antenna, and a rear parking camera with sensors are some more eye-catching features.

Coming to the dimensions, the XUV.e9 concept was 4,790mm long, 1,905mm wide, and 1,690mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. The production-spec model will likely carry forward the same dimensions.

Mahindra XUV.e9 SUV: Interior Details

Previous spy photos of the interior highlighted features such as a three-screen configuration, a two-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned centre console, and a drive mode selector lever. The three-screen layout includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the front occupant and two other 10.25-inch horizontal screens. Other amenities may come in the form of wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS functions, a fully digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

Mahindra XUV.e9 SUV: Powertrain

While most of the details about the powertrain are still under wraps, the XUV.e9 will be built on Mahindra's in-house developed INGLO skateboard platform. This platform allows rear- and all-wheel-drive powertrains with outputs of up to 335bhp. It also supports a wide range of battery sizes, from 60 to 80kWh, with fast charging capabilities of up to 175kW. The all-electric vehicle's range is expected to be up to 450 km. The XUV.e9, Mahindra's second e-SUV following the XUV.e8, will probably go into production in 2025.
