A near-production version of the Mahindra XUV.e9 has been spotted undertaking a road test in India. The images show several new design elements such as a closed-off grille, a full-width LED light bar, and vertically stacked split headlamps. The XUV700 all-electric coupe also has new alloy wheels that resemble the BE.09 and connected LED taillights. The electrified Mahindra XUV.e9 is expected to launch in India by the end of 2024, though this has yet to be confirmed. It will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv in the segment. Let's take a brief look at the likely features of this new Mahindra electric vehicle.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Powertrain

The upcoming all-electric Coupe is likely to share its mechanical parts with the XUV.e8. The higher-spec variant may pack an 80kWh battery, two motors, and all-wheel drive, with power figures ranging from 227bhp to 345bhp. The all-electric model is expected to have a range of up to 450 kilometres.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Interior

The Mahindra XUV.e9's interior will likely have a full-length touchscreen with three separate displays: one for the touchscreen system, one for the instrument console, and one for the passenger screen. Other notable features may include a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, a gear change lever, a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, Level 2 ADAS, and a HUD with augmented navigation.

More Mahindra Cars Enroute

Mahindra submitted numerous trademark applications for names like XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, and XUV 1XO in India. Of them, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, a redesigned XUV300, will go on sale in India on April 29. The redesigned SUV goes by a different name and has several new design cues, including the first panoramic sunroof in its class, a new paint scheme, and inverted C-shaped LED DRLs, as shown in the previous teasers.

The soon-to-be-released XUV 3XO is likely to feature the XUV300's engine combination, which comprises a 1.5-litre diesel motor (115bhp and 300Nm), a 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol unit (128bhp and 250Nm), and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill (108bhp and 200Nm). In terms of price, the upcoming SUV may retail for Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
