Mahindra is all set to expand its range of electric cars with the new XUV.e8. The electrified version of the XUV700 was previously showcased in the concept form, and its prototypes are currently being tested by the domestic manufacturer. Mahindra recently applied for a couple of design patents for the SUV, which cover both exterior and interior elements. The concept car that was displayed a few years ago shares a lot of similarities with the exterior characteristics of the design patent. A new set of inverted L-shaped LED projector headlamps has been installed up front. There is also an LED lightbar that spans the width of the car. Moreover, since there is no internal combustion engine, the new bumpers do not have a grille in the front.
Aero wheel caps are located on the sides to increase airflow efficiency. The flush-sit door handles are still used by Mahindra. The only minor modification would be a new rear bumper at the back. The tail lights should remain the same, although an LED light bar will be available. The XUV.e8 will also include copper elements, exactly like the XUV400.

Mahindra XUV.e8: Interior
Mahindra additionally filed a patent for the model's steering wheel design. With a red strip on top, it has a hexagonal shape. Four toggle buttons on the steering wheel allow you to switch between the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Furthermore, it appears that Mahindra will be adopting a Tata-like style in which the logo on the steering wheel lights up rather than the physical one.
Next, there is the redesigned dashboard layout's design patent. Its three-screen layout is similar to that of luxury cars. The infotainment system, an instrument cluster, and a third screen for the passenger are all present.
Mahindra XUV.e8: Dimensions
With its three rows and extremely similar profile, the XUV.e8 will resemble the XUV700 if the concept goes into production. The e-SUV has dimensions of 4,740mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,760mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2,762mm. Compared to the XUV700 that is currently available for purchase in India, this one is 45mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm taller.
