Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced a significant accomplishment with the delivery of the 1,00,000th XUV700, their flagship model. According to the carmaker, the XUV700 is the fastest SUV in its portfolio to have achieved this milestone, shattering all previous records in a brief period of time—less than 20 months. The manufacturer claims that within a year of the SUV's launch, it delivered the first 50,000 units, followed by the additional 50,000 vehicles in 8 months. In its official statement, the carmaker revealed boosting its production capacity to speed up deliveries of the XUV700 even more. In terms of market rivalry, the two-row version of the XUV700 rivals the likes of the Tata Harrier, the MG Hector, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Hyundai Creta, etc. Meanwhile, the three-row variant competes with the MG Hector Plus, the Hyundai Alcazar, and more. In our market, only the base and mid-spec models of the SUV come in the 5-seat configuration.

Mahindra XUV700: Engine Specifications
The SUV comes with a choice of two engines: 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit. The turbo-petrol mill produces 197bhp and 380Nm, while the diesel engine generates 153bhp and 360Nm. The diesel unit is also capable of producing 182bhp and 420Nm (450Nm with AT) on higher trims. For transmission, both engines get a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox as options.

Retail prices for the Mahindra XUV700 range from Rs 14.01 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Alcazar, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the Tata Harrier are some of the SUV's market competitors.

Mahindra Sales June 2023
Mahindra and Mahindra sold 32,588 passenger vehicles in June 2023, up 21% YoY from the 26,880 sold in the same month the previous year. MoM sales decreased by 0.90%, as compared to the 32,883 units supplied in May 2023. The company claims that there was a particularly high demand for its SUV lineup in the passenger car segment. Some of the best-selling models included the Thar, the Scorpio, and the Mahindra XUV700.
