After increasing the cost of the Scorpio N, Mahindra has now hiked the prices of the XUV700 SUV. Since the Mahindra XUV700's launch in August 2021, there has been a total of four price hikes. Previous price increases for the SUV took place in September 2022. The SUV was initially priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is important to note that the prices of the Mahindra XUV700's base MX variants remain unchanged; however, the price of the rest of the variants have increased. The petrol range of the SUV has seen a price increase of up to Rs 50,000, whereas the diesel version has seen a price increase of up to Rs 64,000. The base petrol AX3 variant of the XUV700 is now priced at Rs 15.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end diesel AX7 L variant now costs Rs 25.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra also implemented a price hike of Rs 1 lakh across the Scorpio range this month. The base petrol variant of the Mahindra Scorpio N now costs Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom), and the highest-specified diesel trim costs Rs 24.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Mahindra XUV700 petrol range has a starting price of Rs 13.45 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-spec model is priced at Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level AX3 MT 5-seater variant has increased in price by Rs 39,000, while the AX3 5-seater AT & AX5 5-seater MT variants have increased in price by up to Rs 41,000. The AX5 7-seater MT is now Rs 41,000 more expensive, while the AX5 AT 5-seater costs Rs 43,000 more.

The XUV700 diesel price has gone up by up to Rs 64,000. The AX7 MT L variant has the lowest price increase of Rs 32,000, while the AX7 AT has a price increase of Rs 64,000. Prices for the AX7 AT AWD, which sits at the top of the XUV700 lineup, have soared by Rs 53,000.
Coming to the powertrain details, the Mahindra XUV700 SUV is available with a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 197bhp of maximum power and 380Nm of peak torque, while the diesel engine churns out 155bhp of maximum power and 360Nm of torque for base variants and 185bhp for higher variants. Both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system is only available in the top-spec diesel-auto variant.

Mahindra XUV700 is the strongest rival in the mid-size SUV market with sales of 65,371 units through 2022. It has a market share of 45.98 per cent and had total sales that were more than twice as high as its closest rival, Tata Harrier, over the last year. Since the XUV700's launch in 2021, there has been a prolonged waiting period. The waiting period for the base gasoline and diesel models is approximately 2-3 months, while the wait time for the mid-spec models can be up to 5 months. Further, there is a longer waiting period for the higher-spec AX7 and the AX7L.
