Expected with first in segment features, the launch of the Mahindra XUV700 is right around the corner. So far, Mahindra has revealed three of its features and we expect a few more before seeing the SUV in the flesh
It has been confirmed that the Mahindra XUV700 will be launched in the third quarter of 2021 i.e sometime between July and September. Nearing its launch, Mahindra has been unveiling its – first in segment – features. So far the company has confirmed two safety features and one luxury feature.
Personalised safety alerts
The new SUV will debut with a system that will allow the users to incorporate personal messages recorded in the voice of their loved one (says Mahindra’s teaser). As the SUV accelerates above a set velocity, the pre-recorded message plays in the cabin to alert the driver.
Auto Booster Headlamp
The moment the SUV exceeds the 80km/hr mark, additional bulbs in the headlamp cluster will come to life, allowing the driver better visibility of the road ahead. The system is based on the velocity of the vehicle and works in tandem with speed sensors.
Skyroof
XUV700 will get the largest sunroof in the segment, claims Mahindra. It has been dubbed the ‘Skyroof and it measures 1360mm in length and 870mm in width. We suspect the sunroof could be operated with a voice command as well.
Other than the features revealed so far, reports on the internet suggest that the XUV700 will come equipped with a dual-screen layout. One screen will double up as an instrument cluster, while the other screen on the dashboard will operate the multimedia system.
Mahindra is expected to up its game in terms of connected car features and equip the new XUV700 with smartphone-based connectivity features at par with Hyundai’s Blue Link and MG’s i-Smart system.
Last year, Mahindra showcased its second-generation Thar on Independence Day. Most likely, Mahindra will grab a similar opportunity to unveil its homegrown SUV on August 15, 2021.
