Mahindra XUV5OO Sportz Edition launched at Rs 16.5 lakh

To stay in the game subsequent to the launch of the Tata Hexa, Mahindra has introduced a limited-edition model of its popular SUV offering, the Mahindra XUV 5OO. This isn’t the first time that the Nashik-based car maker has launched the XUV5OO Sportz Edition. The company produced 1,000 units of the of the Sportz Edition variant for the pre-facelift model as well. The 2017 Mahindra XUV5OO Sportz Edition has been priced at Rs 16.5 lakh and Rs 17.5 lakh for the manual and automatic variants respectively. Al prices ex-showroom Mumbai.

Just like before, the Mahindra XUV 5OO Sportz Edition gets some cosmetic and feature updates. This limited edition model gets funky decals on the bonnet, ORVMs and the sides. Additionally, this XUV 5OO also comes with sporty looking door handles and an ‘S’ badge on the C-pillar. The roof comes fitted with orange roof rails and red brake callipers. With the XUV5OO Sportz Edition only on sale in the W10 variant, it comes loaded with features including a 7-inch touschreen infotainment with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets electically adjustable driver seat, leather upholstery, powered ORVMs and more. Other features include, automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps and more.

At the heart, the Mahindra XUV5OO Sportz Edition will come fitted with the same 2.2-litre diesel motor that churns out 140 horses and 330Nm. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as well as 6-speed automatic. By launching the XUV5OO in this limited edition avatar, Mahindra wants to push the sales of its flagship SUV which is currently facing stiff competition from the recently launched Tata Hexa.
