Available only with an automatic transmission, the petrol version of the Mahindra XUV500 comes powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine.
Mahindra has launched a petrol-powered version of the popular XUV500 in the country. Priced at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the petrol derivative of the SUV will be available in a single variant – G AT – that features a six-speed automatic transmission. As per Mahindra, the petrol XUV500 will be available in select cities with immediate effect.
Under the hood of the latest variant of the XUV500 sits a new 2.2-litre mHawk petrol engine that develops 138bhp and 320Nm of torque. Yes, we've double checked - the specifications are almost identical to the diesel engine but that's how it is. The six-speed automatic transmission has been sourced from AISIN, Japan. Power goes to front wheels.

The XUV500 petrol variant will be decently equipped. Among some of its key features are a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, keyless entry, push-button start and an 8-way adjustable driver seat.
