The new XUV gains a refreshed design and a more powerful diesel motor.
Mahindra has launched the second facelift of its flagship XUV500, which is priced between Rs 12.32 lakh - 17.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The updated model brings with it a new mesh-grille with chrome peppered all around. The headlamps have also been slightly re-profiled as the DRLs have now moved up. Projector lights continue to be offered as standard across all variants. The rear has been completely overhauled with a new tailgate and trapezoidal tail lights.
Mahindra has also changed the variant nomenclature of the XUV - the new model is now available in W5, W7 W9, W11 and W11 option pack variants for the diesel version, while the petrol gets a single-spec G variant. The W11 option pack will now sit at the top the range and gets 18-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, while the rest of the range will continue to ride on 17-inch wheels.
Inside, the W11 features an all-black theme with silver inserts. The centre console design is unchanged but it gets black piano finish. Apart from that, the top trim sports soft-touch leather around the dashboard and door handles, while the seats are now wrapped in quilted tan leather.
The updated XUV500 gets the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, but sports some tweaks that bumps the power by 15bhp, and torque by 30Nm, to produce a total of 153bhp and 360Nm, respectively. The 2.2-litre petrol engine remains unchanged. Mahindra is also offering the 6-speed automatic gearbox option from the W7 variant upwards.
