The XUV400 will be Mahindra’s first all-electric SUV.
Based largely on the XUV300, the Mahindra XUV400 is all set to kick start the company’s mass-market EV plans. The XUV400 isn’t related to the five INGLO-based eSUVs that Mahindra unveiled a few weeks earlier but is instead a more humble offering – it's an all-electric version of a regular ICE-powered car (the XUV300). Here’s everything you can expect from the XUV400.
In terms of design, the XUV400 will have a blanked-out grille up front with the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. We can also spot slightly revised headlights and taillights in the teaser video posted by Mahindra. Expect a bright blue paint exclusive to the XUV400 and bronze accents that we first saw on the XUV.e range of SUVs.
We don’t know too much about the XUV400’s e-motor and battery setup, but we expect it to have a range of at least 250 – 300km. It will definitely be front-wheel-drive and could get two battery options, similar to what we’ve seen in the case of the Tata Nexon EV.
Expect more details about the XUV400 EV to arrive shortly. It's slated to be launched on September 8, which is also World EV Day!
