Mahindra is set to introduce the XUV 3XO in India on April 29. The SUV is a facelift version of the XUV300, which is currently priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.76 lakh in India. Both are ex-showroom figures. The revised XUV300 will have a new name, in addition to redesigned exterior and interior. Mahindra recently released a teaser for the XUV 3XO, offering a brief look at what's to come. As seen in the video, the new SUV will come with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-projector split headlights, an updated paint job, inverted C-shaped LED DRLs, large connected LED taillights, and a new ‘XUV 3XO’ emblem among other enhancements. It will be a feature-rich model with amenities such as a new steering wheel, a modified HVAC panel, AC vents, a new centre console with a redesigned gear lever, and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: Mechanical Details and Other Details
The powertrain of the redesigned XUV300 with a new moniker, will likely remain unchanged, which means the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with 108bhp and 200Nm, a higher-spec 1.2-litre GDI turbo petrol with 128bhp and 250Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 115bhp and 300Nm will be offered. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AutoShift AMT.
The company has yet to announce the price, but market speculations indicate that the XUV 3XO will cost more than the XUV300. It will go up against the Tata Nexon, the Kia Sonet, the Hyundai Venue, the Nissan Magnite, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Renault Kiger in the sector.
Mahindra has several models planned for the year besides the XUV 3XO. The domestic carmaker plans to introduce several highly anticipated vehicles this year, including the Thar 5 Door, XUV.e8, XUV 400 EV facelift, and XUV 700 EV/facelift. According to market speculations, the XUV700 facelift will continue the rebranding tradition with the moniker XUV 7XO. It is possible that subsequent variants, such as the XUV 5XO and XUV 1XO, will employ similar nomenclature.
