Mahindra is undergoing a significant renaming process, with the XUV300 being rebranded as the XUV 3XO. Mahindra's upcoming sub 4m SUV is in the final stages of testing ahead of its April 29 debut in India. The first teaser showcases notable changes, such as a redesigned front fascia with a divided headlamp arrangement, LED projector headlights, circular fog lights, and L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Prominent design features consist of a grille with a diamond pattern, newly designed alloy wheels in two different tones, and the availability of a striking yellow paint colour. The back of the vehicle will showcase updated C-shaped LED taillights, a linked LED light bar on the tailgate, a rear wiper and washer and noticeable 'XUV 3XO' branding.

Mahindra has an ambitious lineup for the year, which includes the XUV 3XO, XUV400 EV facelift, XUV700 EV/facelift, Thar 5 Door, and XUV.e8. These models are scheduled for probable introduction later in the year. There is speculation that the XUV700 makeover would be named XUV 7XO, continuing the pattern of renaming. It is also possible that subsequent models such as XUV 5XO and XUV 1XO might adopt similar naming conventions.

The XUV 3XO's features list will undergo a comprehensive transformation, highlighted by the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof that will replace the existing single-pane alternative. Additional expected enhancements include an expanded 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a redesigned central console, updated AC controls, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and rear air conditioning vents.

In Global NCAP crash testing, the XUV300 achieved a 5-star adult safety rating. The updated version should maintain this level of excellence in Bharat NCAP evaluations, including 7 airbags, electronic stability control, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, ABS, and EBD. Mahindra might put ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in this model.
