Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO (XUV300 facelift) in India in April 2024, and it has now begun conducting road tests for the electric derivative of the XUV 3XO. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, which has been spied on for the first time, could be launched by the end of 2024. Internally codenamed the S240, Mahindra will slot the EV below the XUV400, which received the most substantial update in the form of a redesigned interior in January 2024.
Despite the front fascia being fully camouflaged, the XUV 3XO EV's spy shots reveal C-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lamps) and a front fender-mounted charging port. While the XUV 3XO EV will be visually related to the ICE (internal combustion engine) XUV 3XO, the former will come with some EV-specific finishes to make it stand out. Expected changes include a reworked front grille, redesigned bumpers, fresh alloy wheels, and different badging.
In terms of dimensions, the XUV 3XO EV is expected to resemble its ICE counterpart, making it 200mm shorter than the XUV400. Plus, the dashboard and the feature list could be carried over from the standard version. For your reference, the latter offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an AdrenoX connectivity suite, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: Powertrain
The XUV 3XO EV could be equipped with a 34.5kWh battery pack, which also sees duty on the lower-spec variants of the XUV400. In the XUV400, the smaller 34.5kWh battery offers a claimed 375km range. All this and more will be revealed in due course.

Since the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will be positioned below XUV400, the former will be priced lower than the latter (Rs 15.49 lakh–Rs 19.39 lakh, ex-showroom). Upon launch, the XUV 3XO EV will rival the five-star-rated Tata Nexon EV in the segment.
