Mahindra will launch the XUV 3XO in India on April 29. However, before that, the renamed SUV has been seen undergoing road testing in our market. The most recent spy photos show details such as body-painted door handles, halogen headlamps, grey wheel caps, and black and beige upholstery. Although not verified, the test mule appears to be a base-spec version. Earlier in April, Mahindra posted a teaser for the SUV, which is a facelifted and rebranded version of the XUV300. The video showed several cosmetic modifications, including a new 'XUV 3XO' emblem, a fresh paint job, inverted C-shaped LED DRLs, larger connected LED taillights, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and dual-projector split headlights.
Though the price has not yet been disclosed, market speculations suggest that the XUV 3XO will have a higher price tag than the XUV300, which is currently priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.76 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: Some Key Highlights
The powertrain of the SUV is expected to remain unchanged, with options including the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 108bhp and 200Nm, the higher-spec 1.2-litre GDI turbocharged petrol mill with 128bhp and 250Nm, and the 1.5-litre diesel motor with 115bhp and 300Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed AutoShift AMT and a 6-speed manual.
The all-new XUV 3XO is expected to come with a wireless mobile charger, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, a redesigned gear lever, and a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a music system from Harman Kardon, and a Level 2 ADAS suite. In terms of market competition, the rebranded XUV300 will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Tata Nexon, the Kia Sonet, and the recently launched Toyota Taisor.
More Mahindra Cars On the Way
Apart from the XUV 3XO, Mahindra has a few other models in store for the year such as the Thar 5 Door, XUV.e8, XUV400 EV facelift, and XUV700 EV/facelift. The homegrown automaker has not made any announcements, but industry reports suggest that the XUV700 facelift will carry on the rebranding trend by adopting the title XUV 7XO.
