Mahindra has issued a recall for the new-gen Scorpio and NuvoSport models over a faulty fluid hose in the engine compartment. The homegrown manufacturer will be calling back the affected models – vehicles produced till June 2016 - to fix the issue. Mahindra, however, has not revealed the exact number of vehicles that fall under the current recall.

All the affected vehicles will be inspected and subsequently rectified at Mahindra’s authorized dealerships across the country. As is the case with all of these ‘voluntary recalls’, the customer will not have to bear any of the costs – albeit just a bit of their time, that’s it. Mahindra dealerships will be contacting the affected customers individually so that their vehicles could be booked for an appointment.

In an official statement, the company said, “As an endeavour to ensure a hassle free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity. This action is also in compliance with SIAM’s voluntary code on vehicle recall.”

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio was launched in September 2014, so expect a majority of the recalled vehicles to be of the same model. The NuvoSport was only launched in April this year, but it hasn’t been setting the sales chart on fire like its bigger brother. In fact, the NuvoSport is one of the slowest sellers for Mahindra in the last few months.
