Mahindra Thar Roxx New Colour Officially Revealed Ahead of India Launch on August 15

Mahindra will launch the Thar Roxx in India on August 15, with a range of modifications over its 3-door counterpart such as a 6-slat grille, upgraded LED headlamps with C-shaped daytime running lights, and blacked-out door handles.

Mahindra has released yet another image of the Thar Roxx, revealing its striking colours. The upcoming 5-door variant seems to have the same Everest White colour scheme as the 3-door model, alongside the well-known black paint finish option. While Mahindra has not announced anything, additional colour options for the SUV could include Deep Forest, Tango Red, Nebula Blue, and Burnt Slenna.

For those unaware, the new Thar is set to go on sale on Independence Day (August 15), with a range of cosmetic modifications including a redesigned 6-slat grille, upgraded LED headlamps with C-shaped daytime running lights, blacked-out door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, and LED taillamps. It will have a dual-tone interior with a soft-touch leatherette finish on the dashboard. Read on for more updates on the SUV.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain

The 5-door vehicle will offer three engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a new 1.5-litre diesel. These units will be available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Thar Roxx, like its three-door sibling, will likely receive both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Features

The Mahindra SUV will come with a panoramic sunroof, automatic AC, Harman Kardon sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and the XUV 3XO-like large touchscreen infotainment system, with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. It is also expected to include manual day/night IRVM, dual-zone climate control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold and descent control, and Level 2 ADAS, with features such as lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Price and Rivals 

The cost of the existing Thar in India ranges between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh. With several upgrades over its sibling, the new 5-door model is expected to start at Rs 15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. It will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door and the Maruti Suzuki, and serve as an alternative to the Skoda Kushaq, the Kia Seltos, the Hyundai Creta, and the MG Astor.
