The robust off-road vehicle, Force Gurkha, may not have the coveted market share in our country's quickly expanding SUV segment, but it is undoubtedly a good 4X4 carrier. A few days back, the automaker shared a teaser photo of the upcoming vehicle and since then, it has continued to generate considerable buzz. According to the teaser image, the Gurkha will soon get a five-door version that will sit above the current three-door model. The new variant's image also suggests that the SUV would keep its distinctive look and would be more practical because of the extra doors. Here's all that you can expect from the new Gurkha five-door, anticipated to go on sale soon.
Force Gurkha 5-door: Appearance
The new Gurkha will be an extended model with five doors, in contrast to the current-generation model. The SUV's side profile, complete with a snorkel, roof rack, and spare wheel mounted on the tailgate is visible in the teaser picture. The exterior is decked out in a shiny shade of green. In addition to the increased wheelbase, the 2024 Gurkha will receive some minor visual enhancements such as an updated grille, squared-off headlamps, DRLs, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Force Gurkha 5-door: Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Gurkha 5-door is anticipated to be driven by the same 2.6-litre diesel engine that produces 89bhp of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque in the smaller model. A five-speed manual transmission will probably be one of the available options. Moreover, the 5-door version's off-road capabilities will be improved with a four-wheel-drive system with manual locking front and rear differentials, just like its predecessor.
Force Gurkha 5-door: Interior Layout
On the cabin front, there will be an extended wheelbase available for the five-door Force Gurkha SUV. It will be approximately 425mm longer than the three-door model, which will improve interior space. Compared to its competitors, it will have a straightforward layout. Anticipate a more contemporary design and some cutting-edge technology-assisted features in the upcoming car. It may be offered on the market with five-, six-, or seven-seat configurations.
Force Gurkha 5-door: Features
Features-wise, the Gurkha in its 5-door avatar will boast a 7-inch infotainment system, USB charging ports, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, analogue dials, a 12-volt power socket, rotary AC controls, power windows, a 4-speaker sound system and telescopic and tilt steering. The safety suite of the SUV will comprise rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), multiple airbags, and ABS with EBD.
Force Gurkha 5-door: Expected Pricing
In comparison to the Gurkha 3-door, which has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 15.09 lakh, we anticipate the Indian manufacturer will release the Gurkha 5-door soon at a higher price. Upon launch, it will compete with the much-awaited Mahindra Thar 5-door and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
