Ahead of the much-anticipated 5-door variant, Mahindra has introduced a new version of the Thar off-roader in India. Called the Thar Earth Edition, the special model stands apart from the regular version with its design, which is inspired by the Thar Desert's enormous and magnificent surroundings. It comes only in the LX Hard Top version and is offered in diesel and gasoline engines with manual or automatic transmission choices. The base Thar Petrol MT version of the SUV costs Rs 15.40 lakh, while the top-spec Diesel Automatic version is priced at Rs 17.60 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices. Mahindra Thar Earth Edition: What's New?
The Earth Edition of Thar comes with a few aesthetic modifications that set it apart from the regular version. These changes consist of a satin matte exterior color called 'Desert Fury,' graphics inspired by dunes, and Earth Edition badges placed on the B-pillars. The variant's unique matte-black emblems and silver alloy wheels complement the overall appearance.
The Mahindra off-roader special edition boasts a dual-tone interior scheme of light beige and black. It also features dune patterns on the headrests, the Thar logo on the doors, and dark chrome embellishments throughout. Additionally, the AC vents, centre console, and steering wheel come with Desert Fury-painted accents. Finally, each unit of the variant is also equipped with a unique numbered decorative VIN plate.
A Comfort Kit, 7D floor mats, and bespoke front and rear armrests are among the optional accessories that are also offered. However, it is essential to keep in mind that these accessories are available for purchase independently.
Mahindra Thar Earth Edition: Mechanical Details and Price
The Thar Earth Edition comes with two engine options: petrol and diesel. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 150bhp and 300–320Nm, while the 2.2-litre diesel motor generates 130bhp and 300Nm. A 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic are available transmission options for both units.
