The wait is finally over, Now we know when the next Mahindra Scorpio and the Bolero will break cover. Mahindra has also confirmed the timeline for its upcoming Thar five-door version
Mahindra has confirmed that the five-door version of the Thar will debut by 2023. Along with the longer and more utilitarian Thar, Mahindra announced that it has a total of nine new products in the pipeline for the Indian market.
During a media presentation regarding fourth-quarter results for FY2021, the company revealed the launch timeline for its nine new products. Out of the nine, two products will be all-electric vehicles based on the Born EV platform and will debut by 2025-26.
As we already know the XUV 700 will make its debut in the coming months. The new generation Mahindra Scorpio will be launched before 2022 ends. Following will be the five-door Thar, which will be launched sometime in 2023. For the year 2024, Mahindra plans to launch a product based on a monocoque chassis and has been code-named W602. This could be a possible replacement for the current Mahindra XUV500 or the new XUV900 that could replace the Alturas G4 in the future.
An all-new generation of the Mahindra Bolero is in the pipeline and will break cover sometime before 2026. The new Bolero will continue to be based on body on frame chassis set-up.
By 2027, Mahindra India will launch another product that has been codenamed V201. We speculate that this could be an MPV positioned alongside the Toyota Innova as we do not think this could be a Mahindra Marazzo replacement as the V201 is based on a monocoque chassis as opposed to the body on frame setup of the Marazzo.
The year 2027 will also see an all-new generation of the Mahindra XUV300 based on a new platform and with new powertrains.
