The new Scorpio-N was launched by Mahindra & Mahindra in the country in June last year, with prices beginning at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Z6 variant – the SUV is available in six variants – grabbed our attention after the company recently started production. The Scorpio-N has been in high demand since its official launch. Within 30 seconds of opening reservations, the company received a record-breaking number of bookings of around 1 lakh units. Now, long waiting periods for delivery have been caused by the supply shortages that the industry faced throughout last year, which still persist in some ways. This issue is not exclusive to the Indian automaker's Scorpio-N SUV, as other vehicles are also facing the same challenges.

Customers who had booked the Z6 variant can now sigh in relief, as the production of this variant has commenced at the carmaker's manufacturing plant. While deliveries of the Scorpio-N Z6 will start in a few days, the dispatching of the car to dealerships across India is currently in progress.
Mahindra Scorpio-N: Waiting Period
Since its rollout in June 2022, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has had a long waiting list. It is available in five trim levels: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8 L, with a waiting period ranging from 24 to 65 weeks, depending on trim level. Deliveries of most of the variants have already begun.
As you may remember, the Scorpio-N had an introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which was applicated to a limited number of reservations. The Scorpio-N booking and waiting lists have increased despite the price increase. Some customers have also reported a delay in their delivery date. Starting with the Scorpio-N Z8 L automatic trim, the shortest waiting period is between 24 and 26 weeks. The waiting period for the Z2 base variant is 52 to 54 weeks; for the Z8 L trim, it's 56 – 58 weeks, and for the Z6 and the Z8 variant, it's 55 to 60 weeks. The Scorpio-N Z4 case has the longest waiting period, which is between 60 and 65 weeks.

The Scorpio-N Z6 variant is only available with the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which produces 172bhp and 370Nm of torque (400Nm with the AT). This engine is paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
