An Instagram reel has recently emerged online, featuring a camouflaged test mule that looks like a Mahindra Scorpio-N-based pickup truck. Though Mahindra has yet to confirm the details, the model seems to be near its production form and likely an offspring of the 2023 Global Pik Up concept. In contrast to the dual-cab version of the concept, the spotted test mule sports a single-cab design. It seems to feature design elements reminiscent of the Scorpio-N, such as the headlights, LED DRLs, and alloy wheels. While Mahindra has yet to disclose official specifications, industry reports suggest the new pickup will focus mainly on the commercial market and is expected to debut internationally next year. Read on for more details.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Pickup Truck: Design

The spy images highlight some compelling features of the upcoming pickup, including Scorpio-N-inspired headlights and a signature LED light signature. The model sports a blacked-out grille with vertical slats and the twin-peak Mahindra logo, and indicators integrated into the ORVMs. However, it takes a more streamlined approach compared to the concept, omitting features like separate footboards for each door, the snorkel, and roof-mounted LED lights.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Pickup Truck: Expected Features and Powertrain
Currently, there is no official information on the features and powertrain of the upcoming pickup. Market reports, however, suggest that the Scorpio-N pickup could come equipped with features such as several airbags, wireless phone charging, a single-pane sunroof, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), and a rear parking camera. As for the powertrain, it's likely to adopt the standard Scorpio N’s 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, which produces 173bhp and up to 400Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Pickup Truck: Expected Price and India Launch Timeline
While Mahindra has not shared any official details yet, the pickup’s launch in India doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon. However, when it does make its debut, the pricing is expected to be around Rs 25 lakh. It will likely compete with models like the Isuzu V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux in the Indian market.
