Mahindra’s crossover hatchback gets a mid-cycle refresh, giving it a more aggressive stance and added features.
Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the KUV100 NXT at a starting price of Rs. 4.39 lakh - ex-showroom, Delhi. The ‘NXT’ suffix basically represents the facelift that the Mumbai-based carmaker has given to its entry-level car.
On the outside, the updated KUV100 sports updated front and rear bumpers, which have increased the car’s length by 25mm. Also present is an updated grille - in line with Mahindra’s latest design philosophy. Other new elements on the NXT include faux skid plates, new black cladding, clear-lens tail lights, refreshed headlamps, and 15-inch diamond cut alloys on the top-spec trim. All in all, the updated KUV100 looks more aggressive, and the fussy front-end design of the pre-facelift model has been toned down.
On the interior front, the KUV100 NXT is available in 6-seater configuration as standard, and the 5-seater version will now be available only on made-to-order basis. The total variant count on the NXT is 10, with the upper variants getting a new jet black treatment for the cockpit. Also standard on top-spec trim is a new 7.0-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation. More features like a cooled glovebox, rear parking sensors, new multi-information display power folding mirrors, mood lighting, etc. are also offered.
Mechanically, the KUV100 NXT remains identical to the pre-facelift model, which means that it draws its power from either a 1.2-litre petrol, or a 1.2-litre diesel engine, both mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the facelifted model’s suspension now gets a longer travel rate - 150mm at front and 200mm at rear.
Priced between Rs. 4.39 lakh - Rs. 7.33 lakh, the KUV100 NXT competes with cars like Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Toyota Etios Cross.
