The images of the Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV undergoing testing on our roads popped online a few days ago. Rajesh Jejurikar, CEO of Mahindra, took notice of this and tweeted to affirm that the firm's Automotive Leadership team was indeed driving the vehicle in Chennai. He nodded to the speculations via his tweet with an interior picture of the production-spec EV. According to the official teaser, the interior of the production model will mostly be similar to the concept. It will likely have a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an insert on the centre console running from the dashboard to the armrest, fabric door handles, and more. For starters, the Mahindra BE.05 belongs to the company's 'Born Electric' line of electric goods. Right now, there is no official confirmation, but several market reports indicate that Mahindra could launch the first product from its BE lineup in October 2025. Mahindra BE.05: Exterior
According to the exterior spy shots that surfaced earlier, the electric SUV will have a little less striking external design than the concept. There will be fewer flared wheel arches, standard wing mirrors in place of cameras, and an air duct in place of the concept car's aggressively sculpted bonnet. However, the production-spec version of the EV will continue to flaunt the aggressive front fascia with C-shaped LED daytime running lamps as the concept.
Mahindra BE.05: Interior
As mentioned, the interior of the Mahindra BE.05 will be fairly reminiscent of the concept, as noticed in the officially teased pictures. Inside, the model will likely come fitted with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a freestanding fully digital instrument cluster, and an insert on the centre console that runs from the dashboard to the armrest. Also, there could be electrically adjustable front seats.
Mahindra BE.05: Powertrain
Mahindra has not provided any specifics regarding the powertrain. However, according to industry reports, the upcoming SUV could get single or two motors. Speaking of acceleration, it is predicted that the EV will go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 to 6 seconds. According to industry rumours, the manufacturer will provide a selection of batteries with capacities ranging from 60 to 80kWh. The batteries will most likely charge up to 80% in 30 minutes using a 175 kW fast charger.

Mahindra BE.05: Market Availability & Rivals
Mahindra has not shared a word on the launch of the Mahindra BE.05 SUV. However, market reports indicate that the carmaker could introduce the EV in our market by October 2025. After the launch, the SUV will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv EV in India.
