Mahindra has launched two new electric sub-brands, BE and XEV, representing a significant step forward in its e-mobility ambition. With the BE 6e as its flagship model, the Be sub-brand specializes in providing electric SUVs that are built for sustainability and performance. Priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (starting, ex-showroom), the BE 6e belongs to the company's entirely new Electric Origin SUV range. It claims to offer superior performance, high efficiency, and top-tier safety with the cutting-edge INGLO EV platform as its base. It is important to note Mahindra has only announced prices for the Pack 1 variant of the SUV.
The SUV has a striking and futuristic design. Its angular bonnet and C-shaped LED DRLs create a bold, dynamic presence, while sculpted lines flow seamlessly along its curves, adding to its aggressive stance. The sleek, sharp front bumper contributes to its sporty appeal, giving a modern, aerodynamic profile.
The overall look is further enhanced by a sharp, coupe-like roofline, bold cuts, and creases, LED projector headlights, flush-type front door handles, an illuminated BE emblem on the bonnet, full-width wraparound LED taillights and newly styled aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels.

With a 175 kW DC charger, the platform allows for a 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes. It accommodates two battery options: 59kWh and 79kWh that claim to offer the best efficiency and range.
The INGLO electric origin architecture incorporates ultra-high-strength boron steel and strengthened frontal structures, which are specifically designed to give superior protection in high-impact crashes.
Mahindra BE 6e: Features
The BE 6e offers a host of luxurious features, including a twin-screen setup with 12.3-inch displays in a sleek, floating wraparound configuration that runs a new software dubbed MAIA, which includes over 30 pre-installed applications. It includes a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a glass roof, ambient lighting, and an augmented reality head-up display. In terms of safety and convenience, the BE 6e has ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, and other high-end technologies. According to Mahindra, these features provide a secure driving environment while enhancing overall comfort and enjoyment for both the driver and passengers. Notably, the features vary according to the variant selected.
Mahindra BE 6e: Powertrain
The SUV comes with two battery pack packs (a 59kWh and a 79kWh), which are manufactured using LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry. These batteries have standardised cell-to-pack technology that boosts their performance by increasing energy density and efficiency. Moreover, an advanced intelligent battery and thermal management system allows for optimal performance and an extended driving range over different charge cycles.

The battery pack is strategically placed at a low center of gravity to enhance stability. The handling experience is elevated with the addition of a semi-active suspension system and brake-by-wire technology. At the heart of Mahindra's new platform is the compact three-in-one powertrain that combines the motor, inverter, and transmission.
The variants equipped with the larger battery pack produce 282bhp, while those with the smaller battery deliver 227bhp, both offering a consistent torque output of 380Nm. The Pack 1 variant is available with a 59kWh battery pack. Mahindra claims that the higher-spec variant can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 6.7 seconds. For now, the BE 6e is solely available with rear-wheel drive, but an all-wheel-drive variant is expected to join the list sometime later. The ARAI-certified range is up to 682 kilometres on a single charge for the 79kWh battery pack (WLTP range of 550 kilometres).
