The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e, two new electric vehicles from Mahindra, have both earned 5-star safety ratings in recent Bharat NCAP crash tests. Both models received top scores for adult and child occupant protection. The BE 6 achieved 31.97 out of 32 for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for child occupant protection (COP). The larger XEV 9e scored a perfect 32 out of 32 for adult safety and 45 out of 49 for child safety. Both models are built on the INGLO platform, which features a skateboard layout and a low centre of gravity, improving stability, handling, and safety.

The BE 6 and XEV 9e come with advanced safety features. The BE 6 includes ADAS Level 2+, EyeDentity monitoring, and Secure360 for a 360-degree view. Both vehicles are equipped with seven airbags, ABS, EBD, TPMS, Hill Assist, child seat mounts and more.

Mahindra BE 6 Crash Test Result
In the frontal impact test for adult occupants, the Mahindra BE 6 provided ‘good’ protection to all areas of the co-driver's body. For the driver, protection was ‘adequate’ for the right tibia, with all other body parts, including the head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs, feet, and left tibia, receiving ‘good’ protection.
In the side movable deformable barrier and side pole impact tests, protection for all parts of the adult dummy was rated ‘good’.
Mahindra XEV 9e Crash Test Result
The XEV 9e electric SUV-coupe offers strong protection for both the driver and co-driver in all crash tests. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, both the driver and front passenger received ‘good’ protection across all body parts.
In the side movable deformable barrier and side pole tests, the driver’s head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis also received ‘good’ protection.
Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Powertrain
The Mahindra BE 6 offers two LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery options: 59kWh and 79kWh. The 59kWh battery powers a 227bhp motor, while the 79kWh option delivers 282bhp, both producing 380Nm of torque. The top variant has a certified range of 556km.

The XEV 9e also comes with two battery options as well: 59kWh and 79kWh. The 59kWh battery is paired with a 227bhp motor, while the 79kWh battery is matched with a 282bhp motor. The top-spec variant with a 79kWh battery has a certified range of 656km. Both models feature rear-wheel-drive (RWD) for different performance needs.
