Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo churning out 385bhp and 520Nm, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe can touch the 100km/h mark in just 4.9 seconds. This is the first AMG badged car to be assembled in India
The launch of the face-lifted GLC 43 Coupe marks a new chapter for Mercedes-AMG in India. The GLC Coupe is the first AMG offering to be locally assembled in India. Thanks to this, Mercedes-Benz has been able to price the GLC 43 4Matic+ Coupe at Rs 76.70 lakh (ex-showroom India). Earlier, the company had announced that the difference in cost of a locally assembled versus a full import CBU could be an insane 20%. This is the first AMG to be locally assembled in India, Mercedes is expected to add to the list in the near future.
Coming back to the car in question, this Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 AMG is a face-lift and gets some noticeable cosmetic changes including the large Panamericana grille and the AMG bumpers with the large air dams. Along the sides, the GLC 43 looks more or less identical to the standard GLC Coupe with the exception of the 19-inch alloy wheels that are exclusive to the AMG. The bumper and the diffuser have been redesigned from the standard trim to give it a sporty appeal that is in line with the AMG design language. The GLC 43 gets a lot of AMG touches on the inside as well including all-black upholstery, sports seats and more.
Under the hood, the GLC 43 4Matic+ Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo heart that develops 385bhp and 520Nm. The power is sent to all wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of taking the coupe-SUV from standstill to 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
