The Lamborghini Urus SE plug-in hybrid is finally coming to India on August 9, 2024, following its global debut earlier this year. The SUV's main attraction is its hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine (which also powers the Urus S and Urus Performante) and an electric motor (integrated into 8-speed automatic transmission), which uses a 25.9 kWh battery pack positioned under the cargo floor. The engine generates 612bhp and 800Nm, while the electric motor produces 189bhp and 483Nm, resulting in a combined output of 789bhp and 950Nm. The PHEV variant can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the Urus S but slower than the Performante. It has an all-electric range of 60 kilometres. With a top speed of 312km/h, the SUV outperforms its siblings. It features an all-wheel-drive system.
Lamborghini Urus SE: Exterior and Interior
Design-wise, the SE variant differentiates itself from the Urus S with its updated bonnet, radiator grille, and Matrix LED headlights with a distinctive light signature. It is equipped with all-black alloy wheels, available in sizes ranging from 21 inches to 23 inches, covered in new Pirelli P Zero tyres. The SUV sports a new tailgate, along with Y-shaped connecting LED tail lights with a mesh design. It also features a revamped diffuser, which, along with the new spoiler, enhances downforce by 35% at higher speeds compared to the standard model. Lamborghini has improved the Urus SE's aerodynamics with new under-body air vents and redesigned air ducts. With this, mechanical and engine parts now have 15% more airflow, while the brake system has 30% more airflow.
Inside, the most noticeable thing is the 12.3-inch centre touchscreen, which replaces the 10.1-inch panel and runs on Lambo's most recent software. Other notable features include revised AC vents and updated switchgear. Besides the six Urus driving modes, the SUV also gets four new driving modes: Full EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge.
