While economists continue to tell us that we are living in tough times, and even as many of the world’s economies begin to collapse, the fact remains that people are still willing to go out and buy a Lamborghini. But let’s be honest, people who have money aren’t rally facing the crunch, and in 2013 more wealthy people went out and brought a raging bull back to their homes.
In a recent press release the legendary Italian car manufacturer stated that they increased worldwide sales for a third year in a row, as they sold a total of 2,121 cars in 2013. Lamborghini was also celebrating its 50th anniversary last year and that might have helped them sell additional numbers, and they also managed to claim an all time high in V12 sales since they sold 1,001 Aventadors. It also came as no surprise to us that their biggest markets were the United States and followed by China. The Lamborghini Gallardo was in its last year of production and still managed to sell 1,120 units, which brings its total sales since its creation to 14,022 units and making it the most-built Lamborghini of all time.
‘‘In the year of our 50th anniversary, Lamborghini has delivered a very satisfying performance, confirming the strength of our product and commercial strategy’’, said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. ‘‘Even in its last year of production the Lamborghini Gallardo has shown strong sales, whereas the Aventador has beaten all records of V12 model sales in our history. The USA and China are our biggest single markets, the Middle East and Japan are very strong and Europe is in line with the trend in our market segment.’’
