The Lamborghini Huracan is on the way out and its replacement is nearing the date it will make its international debut on – August 16. Likely to be called the Lamborghini Temerario, it will replace the iconic Huracan powered by a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine. Rather than the V10, the Huracan replacement will use a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors, as part of Lamborghini's effort to electrify its line-up by 2024.
The twin-turbo V8 engine develops 789bhp and 730Nm of torque, making it more powerful than the Huracan's V10 engine, even in an extreme STO avatar. In the upcoming Temerario, the V8 engine is capable of reaching a screaming 10,000rpm, although the teaser released last week hints at a higher redline. In the teaser video, the digital tachometer showed the red needle going past the 10,000rpm redline. The combined output figure is yet to be known, but we expect it to be over 888bhp.

That much was already known, but the latest teaser reveals more details about the Huracan replacement. According to the teaser, Lamborghini designer Mitja Borkert gives us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Temerario. Though the teaser only shows Mitja drawing the silhouette of the new car, the lines are unmistakably Lamborghini. At debut, expect the model to feature a sharp and edgy design.
Previous spy shots have revealed a more streamlined headlamp setup including two projector units, hexagon-shaped LED DRLs on the bumper's lower side, and an extra set of lights on either side of the radiator. In profile, the car is likely to feature new alloys, while the rear end could sport a high-mounted stop lamp, a single-tip central exhaust, a redesigned rear bumper with a big diffuser, slim LED taillights, and engine cover vents.
Lamborghini Huracan Successor: Interior
Though the interior details are still under wraps, it is anticipated that the cabin will mimic the Revuelto and house an 8.4-inch vertical touchscreen in the centre, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel display, a 9.1-inch display for the passenger, as well as a steering wheel with 4 knobs that the car owner can use for selecting 13 driving modes. A host of physical controls are also on the cards.
