Lamborghini launches the drop-top version of the Huracan in India.
Lamborghini has launched the Huracan LP610-4 Spyder in India at a price of Rs 3.89 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The drop-top version of the Huracan is the third iteration of the supercar that’s been launched in the country after the regular LP610-4 coupe and the rear-wheel drive LP580-2.
Unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Huracan LP610-4 Spyder is virtually identical to the coupe version, although it gets an electro-hydraulically operated soft top. The roof can be lowered or raised in 17 seconds till speeds up to 50km/h. And it’s offered in three colour options – red, black or brown. The chassis has also received modifications and Huracan Spyder’s torsional stiffness has improved by 40% over the Gallardo predecessor, claims Lamborghini. As a tradeoff, the Spyder is around 120kilograms heavier than the regular coupe derivative.
The additional weight does not affect the performance by much though – that’s because the Spyder comes powered by the same naturally aspirated 602bhp/560Nm producing 5.2-litre V10 as the regular Huracan LP610-4 coupe. All the firepower from the engine is sent to all four-wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. 0-100km/h comes within 3.4 seconds – 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe, while it can hit a top speed of 324km/h.
Interiors remain unchanged from the standard model as well. Among some of the features, the Spyder gets a 12.3-inch high-resolution display instrument panel and Lamborghini Infotainment System II as standard. It also has cylinder on demand fuel saving tech. Optional extras include magneto-rheological dampers and an adaptive steering system.
