Kicking off the Geneva show in style, Lamborghini has finally launched their latest 'baby' supercar, the Huracan. Finally making tis public debut after months of teasers and released images, the Lamborghini Huracan has big shoes to fill as it seeks to build on the success of its predecessor, the Gallardo, which was Lamborghini's most successful model ever with over 14,000 units sold in its lifetime.

Powering the Huracan is a brand-new direct injection 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 which produces 610bhp and 560Nm of torque. Helped by the standard fit all-wheel drive system, this enables the Lamborghini Huracan to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of over 325km/h. The engine is mated to a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which promises to be smoother and less brutal than the Aventador's single-clutch unit. The new gearbox will also pre-select lower gears in sports mode for super fast downshifts as well as offer launch control.

The brakes have also been upgraded to account for the increased performance, with the front discs now measuring 380mm at front, and 360mm at the rear. The brakes are, naturally, made of carbon ceramic to enhance life and withstand sustained abuse. The Lamborghini Huracan is also lighter than the Gallardo, and Pirelli has also specially develooped a new tyre for the car, in order to offer the near perfect combination of grip and comfort.

And as a testatment to the Huracan's appeal, over 700 units of the car have already been pre-sold, while Lamborghini insiders reckon it could easily do over 1,000 units in 2014 itself. Deliveries of the Huracan start in June this year in all markets, and you can be sure of sighting some of these beauties roaming on Indian roads pretty soon.
