Lamborghini launches special edition Huracan LP610-4 Avio in India. Production limited to only 250 units, worldwide!
Lamborghini has driven in a special edition of the Huracan in India. Billed as the Huracan LP610-4 Avio, the latest iteration of the baby Lambo pays tribute to the world of aviation and aeronautics, says the Italian supercar maker. Production of the Huracan Avio is limited to 250 units, worldwide. You can buy one in India for Rs 3.71 crore (ex-showroom)!
Revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the Huracan Avio is sort of a thank-you gesture from Lamborghini to the aviation industry. That’s because, as per the maker, Lamborghini cars are hugely inspired by fighter jets. And you only have to take a look at the current-gen Lamborghinis to understand that – digital instrument console, cockpit-like cabin, red engine ‘start’ button and otherworldly design with sharp creases on the outside are all inspired by fighter jets.
Coming to the unique bits of the Huracan Avio. First up, it comes with white or grey painted details on the side view mirrors and lip of the front spoiler. A double stripe also runs down the bodywork in contrast with the body colour. And speaking of body colours there are five new shades including the standard shade of Grigio Falco with pearlescent finish along with four optional matt colours, namely, Blu Grifo, Grigio Nibbio, Grigio Vulcano and Verde Turbine. All these colours represent the coats-of-arms of the Italian Air Force Academy.
Inside, the special edition version gets a combination of black leather and Alcantara bits. This material covers the central section of the seat, the armrest, the knee support and part of the door panel, featuring contrasting stitching in white. There’s also a L63 logo (L- Lamborghini; 63 – representing Lamborghini’s founding year, 1963) embroidered onto the sides of the seats. The new model also comes with some extra bells and whistles such as a standard configuration including nose-lifting system, cruise control and GPS.
On the mechanical front, everything remains unchanged. And you shouldn’t be complaining about that since the Huracan comes fitted with a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that develops 602bhp and 560Nm of peak-torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, helping the Huracan to hit 0 to 100 km/h within 3.2 seconds, before reaching its top speed of over 325 km/h.
