SVJ will be the abbreviation for Super Veloce Jota.
Our partner quattroruote has spied on a prototype of what might become the most extreme road going Lamborghini.
Rumoured to wear the Aventador SVJ badge, the upcoming hardcore variant of the already brutal supercar is expected to be the last model of the Aventador before its successor – possibly with some sort of electrification – arrives.
The camouflage couldn’t completely hide all of the details that will characterise the SVJ. Looking at the spy shots, one can immediately notice the updated aerodynamic details, starting from the new front bumper with extremely pronounced splitter to new side air intakes and a redesigned tail section.
The exhaust terminals look like they are repositioned and integrated in a raised position inside one of the new bumper vents that will likely dissipate the heat generated by the V12. Dominating the rear is a brand new rear wing fixed to the car by a central support and two side supports. Finally, some details such as the openings in the centre of the rear diffuser suggest the possible use of an advanced active aerodynamic system.
Power output on the SVJ is expected to touch the insane 800bhp mark, all of which will be produced without any forced induction method, keeping the Aventador’s glorious V12 soundtrack intact. Given such power, the presence of a four-wheel drive seems almost obvious, as well as the use of a four-wheel steering system derived from the Aventador S.
Expect the Aventador SVJ to be revealed towards the end of this year. But customer deliveries might only begin in early 2019.
