With the Jesko Absolut, which just broke the 0-400-0 km/h world record, Koenigsegg Automotive continues to redefine perfection in hypercars. Markus Lundh, a test driver for Koenigsegg, drove the Jesko Absolut, finishing the run in an astounding 27.83 seconds at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden. In addition to shattering the previous record held by the Regera in 2023, the accomplishment solidifies Koenigsegg's position as the world's fastest and most inventive megacar maker. Koenigsegg claims that the run that broke the record was done around five in the morning to take advantage of the low air and track temperatures as well as the calm winds. Other than a Koenigsegg One:1 seat and a roll cage for safety, the car was a standard version. It utilised E85 fuel and had standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.

Koenigsegg Breaks Its Own Record
As mentioned before, Markus Lundh was selected to steer the Jesko Absolut during the attempt to break the record. He topped the Koenigsegg Regera's 2023 time of 28.81 seconds with a time of 27.83 seconds. As if breaking just one world record wasn't enough, Lundh broke three more records in the process as he rocketed beyond the 400km/h threshold reaching a maximum speed of 412km/h. Lundh reached 400km/h in 18.82 seconds, 402km/h in 19.20 seconds, and 0–402–0km/h in 28.27 seconds with the Jesko's twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine revved up on E85 fuel and producing 1,578bhp of maximum power. This unit is connected to the rear wheels via Koenigsegg's Light Speed Transmission (LST), a nine-speed transmission with seven clutches for ultra-fast shifts.
The Absolut version employed here maximises drag to produce a better acceleration, forgoing the large wing and maximum downforce in favour of straight-line speed. Although this record is impressive, founder Christian von Koenigsegg believes that with ample space, the vehicle can achieve 531km/h.

Markus Lundh Comments on the Feat
Sharing his thoughts on this new feat, Markus Lundh said, 'This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest fully homologated production car in the world. In parallel, we plan to see what kind of records the Jesko Attack can achieve, given its astonishing track performance.'
