Kia Syros SUV with Split LED Taillamps Spotted Ahead of Upcoming Global Debut
The Kia Syros SUV will get a 'lounge-like' cabin, with 'futuristic features' and a unique seating configuration upon arrival.
Kia's upcoming compact SUV, the Syros, is believed to make its glbal debut in the coming weeks. Featuring a 'tall boy' design similar to the EV9, the Kia Syros will slot above the Sonet in terms of positioning, and will differentiate itself from the latter by providing rear-seat passengers with more roominess and comfort.
To that end, the Syros will bring a 'lounge-like' cabin, with 'futuristic features' and a unique seating configuration. Expected bits include an electric sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, a Bose audio system, Seltos-like twin displays, a 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, and an ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite.

Kia Syros SUV: What the Latest Spy Shots Reveal?
The latest spy shots offer a glimpse of the profile and rear quarter of the Syros SUV, revealing a boxy shape and a distinct-looking silhouette. The profile shows a flat roofline, moderately flared wheel arches, and alloy wheels. The rear end gives away a vertical tailgate and split LED taillamps mounted on the bumper. The teaser images have already shown the L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps positioned higher up. Additional bits include vertically stacked headlamps, contoured fenders, a sharp kink (on the C-pillar), and flush-fit door handles.
Kia Syros SUV: Powertrain
Kia is still cagey about powertrain details, but market reports suggest that the upcoming SUV will sit on a new platform supporting both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrain options. Upon its debut, the Syros will likely come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated to either a manual or an automatic gearbox. The electric derivative is expected to arrive sometime in mid-2025.
