The brand-new Kia Syros has made its global debut, featuring a boxy design inspired by the larger EV9. Bookings for the car will open on January 3, with deliveries expected to begin in early February 2025. Packed with a host of premium features, the Syros is the brand’s second model in the sub-4-metre SUV segment, following the Sonet. It comes in six different variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). If the Syros is on your radar for the next car purchase, here’s everything you need to know about this new model.
Kia Syros: Exterior and Interior
The Kia Syros has vertically mounted three-pod LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a kinked beltline adjacent to the C-pillar, squared-off wheel arches, 17-inch alloys, and large window panels. It stands out with a notable shoulder line, flush door handles, and a body-coloured B-pillar, all of which offer a touch of sophistication. The L-shaped LED taillights and a flat tailgate complete the overall appearance.

Inside, the Kia gets a dual-tone black and grey theme and subtle design cues from the EV9 and Carnival. The layout differs from that of the Sonet and Seltos, which makes it more distinctive. The most noticeable highlight is the rear seating, which offers ventilation, leatherette upholstery, and extra comfort with sliding and reclining capabilities.
Other features include a two-spoke steering wheel, two 12.3-inch screens (one for the infotainment and the other for the driver's display), dual-zone air conditioning, a panoramic sunroof, a 5-inch screen (placed between the two displays for climate management), a four-way powered driver's seat, and eight speakers, ventilated front and back seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, remote control power windows, and a wireless phone charger.
Kia Syros: Powertrain
A 1.5-litre diesel engine with 114bhp and 250Nm mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic is one of the engine options available for the Syros.
