Facelifted Kia SUV will feature a sharper design.
Kia Motors is all-set to launch in India next year. While not confirmed, we speculate that the company’s Sportage SUV makes sense for India and might be launched here. Now, our partner quattroruote has spied a completely undisguised prototype of the Sportage facelift at the Nürburgring.
As seen from spy images, up front the reprofiled headlights have DRLs, and the characteristic tiger nose grille is now shorter and sharper. However, it the new bumper that stands out the most - it has been redesigned to make the SUV look more aggressive. At the rear, the LED tail lamp signature has been revamped. The rear bumper has been significantly updated too.
Inside, the biggest change is likely to come in the form of an updated infotainment system with a bigger screen, in addition to the general fit and finish improvements associated with mid-cycle refreshes.
Very recently, Kia had officially confirmed that the Sportage would be the first vehicle of incorporate the Korean company’s new 48V diesel mild-hybrid powertrain, called EcoDynamics+. It’s quite likely that the new technology will debut on the facelifted Sportage. Kia also claimd that Sportage with EcoDynamics+ will go on sale later in 2018, thereby hinting that the facelift should debut around the same time.
If the Kia Sporage launches in India at all, it would surely be this refreshed version.
