Kia Sonet X Line details revealed ahead of launch in India

The Kia Sonet is nearing its two-year anniversary in India and the company is planning to launch the X Line version of the car in India. Ahead of its debut in India, we came across a few details of the car that you should know.

The Sonet is going to get a similar treatment as the Seltos X Line.

Kia is all set to launch the special-edition Sonet X Line in India. The company teased the carmaker a few days ago and now reports citing sources close to the matter have3 revealed more information on the car, confirming a few of our speculations. Rest assured, the Kia Sonet X Line will follow in the footsteps of its elder sibling, Seltos with the changes in the X Line.

Exterior and Interior 

Like the Seltos X Line, the Sonet will also get the signature matte graphite paint option. In addition to this, the grille will be finished in gloss black with a knurled pattern, while the front and rear skid plates also get a piano-black finish with dark metal accents.

The same gloss black theme is carried forward onto the fog lamp garnishes as well as the ORVMs. The door will get a dark metal accent and other notable updates on the outside will come in the form of 16-inch alloy wheels finished in a gloss black alongside brake callipers that will be finished in silver. 

Similarly, on the inside, the car will come with a new dual-tone colour scheme and a new lack headliner. Apart from that, the leatherette upholstery on the Sonet X Line will come with orange stitching and X-Line logos. Like the Seltos, the Sonet will also be based on the top-rung GTX+ trim. 

Engine Options

As mentioned before, the Sonet X Line will be based on the current lineup’s top variant. This means the car will be offered in two engine options including a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine outputting 120hp and __Nm of torque which will be on sale alongside a 1.5-litre diesel unit delivering  115hp in the automatic version. Transmission options on the car will be the same as well including the iMT and DCT for petrol and manual/torque converter automatic for the diesel.
