Kia India has finally launched the new Sonet at tempting introductory prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). This subcompact SUV comes in a variety of trim levels and engine options, including 19 variants with both petrol and diesel engine options. The new Sonet, which was unveiled last month by the Korean manufacturer, features a host of changes, such as a more modern exterior design and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Just like its sibling, the Seltos, the new Sonet is also available through the K-Code system. To guarantee priority delivery, any Kia owner can generate a K-Code. New Kia Sonet: Design
A lot of work has gone into remodelling the Sonet's appearance after the recently refreshed Seltos. Updates to the vehicle's front grille, fog lights, and bumper give it a more modern look. Stylish LED headlights and futuristic Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) add to the overall appearance of the front fascia. The rear end features new LED taillights linked by an elegant LED strip and a revised bumper, adding to its rugged appearance. In addition, the car now features new alloy wheels, which give it a modern and updated appearance.
New Kia Sonet: Safety Suite
The Sonet now leads the segment in terms of safety, thanks to the addition of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Features like lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, high beam assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, and leading vehicle departure alert are all part of its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. In addition, it mitigates possible dangers involving bicycles, pedestrians, and cars with features like forward collision warning and forward collision-avoidance aid. The inclusion of six airbags as standard further shows the company’s commitment to safety.
New Kia Sonet: Interior
The Sonet's digital instrument panel, which resublimes that of the Seltos, considerably adds to the overall driving experience. A state-of-the-art 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system is at the heart of the redesigned dashboard, providing greater functionality. Moreover, the Sonet also gets a premium Bose sound system, five customisable colours, ambient lighting, an electric sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and power-adjustable front seats. Among other features are ventilated front seats, an array of connected car features, and a 360-degree camera.

As previously mentioned, the New Sonet has been launched with special introductory prices starting at Rs 7.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 15.69 lakh for the higher-end diesel version.

New Kia Sonet: Powertrain Options and Rivals
The Sonet is available in 19 variants, which include three petrol and five diesel manual variants, three petrol and two diesel iMT variants, three petrol models with a seven-speed gearbox, and three diesel models with an automatic gearbox. The Smartstream G1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, while the Smartstream G1.2-litre petrol mill produces 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre CRDi VGT engine is perfect for those with a penchant for the diesel mill; it produces 114bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The Sonet has achieved remarkable success in the compact SUV segment, wherein it competes with vehicles such as the Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.
