Kia India has launched the Sonet facelift, its sub-compact SUV, with prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh and going up to Rs 15.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sonet is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue but gets a different styling. It features a revised radiator grille, new 'Crown Jewel' LED headlamps with downward-extending DRLs, redesigned front and rear bumpers, C-shaped taillamps connected by an LED light bar, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The facelifted Kia Sonet is offered in three broad variants – Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line. Kia Sonet Facelift: Powertrain
Like the pre-facelifted Sonet, the new Kia Sonet gets two petrol engines – a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder unit (82bhp) mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine (118bhp) paired to a six-speed iMT and a seven-speed DCT. Besides, Kia has brought back the diesel manual powertrain. This 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, diesel mill (114bhp) comes with a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The 1.2-litre petrol MT is available with HTE, HTK, and HTK+ variants. The 1.0-litre petrol iMT is offered with the HTK+, HTX, and HTX+, whereas the 1.0-litre petrol DCT can be had with the HTX, GTX+, and X-Line. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel MT is available on the entire Tech Line range, while the 1.5-litre diesel iMT comes only with the HTX and HTX+.
